The Seemandhra leaders seem to be reconciling to the reality that the Centre might grant separate Telangana state and that it might be a futile exercise to talk of resignations at this stage. So, they have started making last ditch efforts to create ruckus over Hyderabad.
Take for example, Congress MP from Guntur Rayapati Sambasiva Rao. He came out with a latest fitting on the Telangana issue, stating that he had no objection for the Telangana state formation, provided it is without Hyderabad. In the same breath, he said, it was his personal opinion and cannot be attributed to all the Seemandhra leaders.
He said there was no question of Seemandhra leaders giving up their right on Hyderabad.
“How can we quit Hyderabad after having spent so much on its development? There will be so many problems if Telangana state is given along with Hyderabad. I don’t mind if Hyderabad is made union territory with separate capital cities for Telangana and Seemandhra,” Rayapati said.
At the same time, he also put the onus of finalising the water sharing agreements on the Centre.
“I don’t think a decision on Telangana will be taken before January 28 as assured by the Centre,” he said.
